Applicants are encouraged to reach out to discuss their eligibility, ideas and options with the Community Grants Officer before submitting an application, particularly those seeking funds for the first time, on 9290 6628 or via cgo@mundaring.wa.gov.au.

In addition, you must read the Grant Guidelines for further information and to ensure you are eligible and to view eligible and non-eligible items, prior to completing your application. Note that retrospective requests where the event has already taken place are not eligible.

Applying for a Group Events Grant

Shire of Mundaring is committed to supporting the valuable contributions of local organisations. As part of this commitment, we are pleased to offer funding opportunities to assist eligible groups in delivering initiatives and events that benefit both their members and the wider community. Successful applicants will be provided up to $1000 by Council, to assist in holding these events.

What is funded

  • Volunteer member recognition
  • Celebration of a milestone, achievement or anniversary
  • Fundraisers

Value of Grant

  • Up to $1000 

Your application must address the following criteria:

  • The event meets an identified need of the group and the purpose and requirements of the grant program
  • The benefits the event will bring to the local community
  • The event aims to recognise the volunteer contribution to a group 
  • The consultation that took place with members and the broader community to determine their level of support for the event
  • The capacity of the community to contribute to the event
  • The extent to which the event is accessible and inclusive to all people regardless of age, sexual and/or gender diversity, culture and ability  
  • How the Shire's contribution will be acknowledged 
  • Budget including in-kind contribution 
  • Evaluation of outcomes of the event 

Required Documentation

To complete your application, you will need:

  • To have applied for an Event Permit;
  • Your ABN or an ATO Statement by Supplier Form if you do not have an ABN;
  • The bank details of your organisation or your auspicing organisation;
  • A detailed budget breakdown (with quotes for items over $500); 
  • Confirmation of other funding sources; and
  • Name and contact details of one referee

In addition, please ensure you have determined the need for additional toilet facilities for your event and have incorporated the hire expenses into your budget. Please contact Shire Health Services on 9290 6742 to discuss and note the details in your application.
