Applicants are encouraged to reach out to discuss their eligibility, ideas and options with the Community Grants Officer before submitting an application, particularly those seeking funds for the first time, on 9290 6628 or via cgo@mundaring.wa.gov.au 

In addition, you must read the Grant Guidelines for further information, to ensure you are eligible and to view eligible and non-eligible items, prior to completing your application. Note that retrospective requests where the event has already taken place are not eligible.

Applying for a Community-wide Events Grant

Shire of Mundaring is proud to offer the Community-Wide Events Grant Program to support local groups, organisations, and individuals in delivering events that foster connection, celebration, and community spirit across our region. This grant aims to empower our community to create inclusive, engaging, and accessible events that reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the Shire.

Funding of up to $5000 is available to successful applicants, for events that bring people together, celebrate what makes our community unique, and contribute to the health and wellbeing of our residents.

  • Sporting/recreational carnivals
  • Exhibitions
  • Small performances

Value of Grant

  • Up to $5000

Your application must address the following criteria:

  • The event meets an identified need of the group and the purpose and requirements of the grant program
  • The benefits the event will bring to the local community
  • The consultation that took place with members and the broader community to determine their level of support for the event
  • The capacity of the community to contribute to the event
  • The extent to which the event is accessible and inclusive to all people regardless of age, sexual and/or gender diversity, culture and ability 
  • Budget including volunteer in-kind contribution
  • How the Shire's contribution will be acknowledged 
  • Evaluation of outcomes of the event

Required Documentation

To complete your application you will need:

  • To have applied for an Event Permit;
  • Your ABN or an ATO Statement by Supplier Form if you do not have an ABN;
  • The bank details of your organisation or your auspicing organisation;
  • A detailed budget breakdown (with quotes for items over $500); 
  • Confirmation of other funding sources; and
  • Name and contact details of one referee

In addition, please ensure you have determined the need for additional toilet facilities for your event and have incorporated the hire expenses into your budget. Please contact Shire Health Services on 9290 6742 to discuss and note the details in your application.
